Ghana's vice president meets with CPPCC official

ACCRA, May 28(Xinhua) -- Ghana's Vice President Kwesi Bekoe Amissah-Arthur onTuesday met with Ma Biao, vice-chairman of the National Committeeof the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC),both vowing to deepen ties between two nations.

The VicePresident extended appreciation to the Chinese government andpeople for the consistent supports to Ghana's economic and socialdevelopment for a long time. He said Ghana and China have enjoyedpragmatic and fruitful cooperation in many fields during recentyears, hoping the two countries can continue to enhance theall-level friendly exchanges and cooperation in the future.

Ma conveyed thesincere wishes from Chinese leaders to the Ghanaian government andpeople. With the profound traditional friendship, China and Ghanahave been important partners for each other, according to him.

"China hasattached great importance to friendly relationship with Ghana. Wewish to deepen the understanding and mutual trust by this visit,pushing the bilateral relations and cooperation to a new highlevel," Ma noted.

Edward DoeAdjaho, the Speaker of Parliament of Ghana, lauded China's fastgrowing and steady economic development during these years, sayingthat Ghana should learn from China to improve the poorinfrastructure and speed up the development.

Adjaho said thecommunication and cooperation between CPPCC and Ghana's parliamentplay an important role in enhancing the relationship of the twocountries.

"The solidfriendship between Ghana and China will not be weakened by anypeople and any party. We believe by the joint efforts, ourrelationship will be strengthened which will finally benefit ourpeople," Adjaho said.

"We would liketo strengthen the friendly communication and cooperation with theparliament of Ghana at all levels and in all fields in the future,"Ma added.

The Chinesedelegation kicked off the three-day-visit in this western Africancountry from last Sunday.
